Hiya,

Please use Windows XP for continuity of service. If linux screws up its harder to get help. If you’re experienced in linux thats different. I got XP on my Acer i bought online at Netbook2.com. Microsoft is always better even if it makes Bill Gates richer…lol

Go for Ubuntu simply because the Acer Aspire One is a small laptop with little power to it. Ubuntu will run a lot smoother than Windows XP ever could on that thing.

I prefer xp because it has been many years with us. I also have tried ubuntu but it always update their program. I really dont like this way. Always update programs and software. Xp updates their os every day but their update oly important patch or security description. Take xp.

Just give both a go. Remember you can try Ubuntu out with the Live CD so you can try it out without installing it to make sure it works well with your hardware.

You could also run a dual boot, so you will have both operating systems installed and you choose which one you want to use each time you boot up your laptop

Xp and use more gadgets and keep it clean for more info go to there u may get some tips for keeping xp clean

It depends on what you want to do. If you want very basic computing, then it’s for you. If you want to burn CD/DVD stuff, process music or video, then you need a regular, run of the mill laptop. It all depends on what you need it to do.

Also, it’s very underpowered for video games, so if you’re planning on that, then you definitely want to get a regular laptop.

Do NOT get the 7″ one the other poster listed.

The Aspire One is a 8.9″ screen.
